It’s that time of year again, the event we look forward to once a year. No, not Christmas, but close … the Super Bowl.
Arguably the most hyped sporting event of all time, last year the Super Bowl had over 60 million viewers, and this year is predicted to have even more.
So, if you have been living under a rock, here’s a quick guide to what you can expect from the 56th annual Super Bowl – well, the halftime show that is. Because we all know, it’s the halftime show that people really tune in for, not that football nonsense (what is a touchdown?)
What to Expect From This Year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show
Previous years’ shows have provided us with unparalleled entertainment, including:
– Epic dance-offs
– Flaming balls of fire
-Giant chessboard stages
– Millions of costume changes
– Giant tigers (Yep, you read that right)
This year’s halftime show has been labelled by Pepsi as “the most anticipated Super Bowl halftime show ever” – and with the massive line up who could question them when they say it will be “the greatest 12 minutes in music entertainment the world has ever seen”?
We are thinking lightshows, fireworks, outrageously costumed dancers, lots of gold and mirrors, maybe an elephant or two – head over to the Buddybet app now to bet on the crazy halftime show props.

What Makes This Super Bowl Halftime Show Different?
The halftime show has historically been headlined by some of the biggest names is music – Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and The Rolling Stones to name a few..
Rarely has there ever been more than two headliners at once (not since Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake’s little “wardrobe malfunction” in fact) This year we will see not one, not two, but FIVE of the biggest artists headline the halftime show. And not just any artists either… the crème de la crème of rap and hip hop.
This year Eminem, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige will take the stage in what will be a halftime show of epic proportions – no humble performances here! (Ok, maybe one).
And this year’s halftime show will make the hall of fame in more ways than one – never has the Super Bowl halftime show been headlined by a hip hop or rap artist.
Guest performers have been numerous, but the main performers have leaned towards the pop and rock genres – with a few bands thrown in for good measure.
To have FIVE headliners from the hip hop scene, four of them legendary rap gods, the NFL are really pulling out the big guns (or should we say ‘big Doggs’).
Prepare to be schooled on the ‘Gospel’ of hip hop.
Let’s talk grand entrances
As far as entrances go, the grander the better! And there have been some epic entrances by headliners over the years, including:
-Diving off the stadium roof
-Riding in on a giant tiger
– Lowering in on a crane made of sparklers
-Being drawn in on a chariot (was that supposed to be a chariot Madonna?)
So, with so few options left, how will our rap gods make their entrance? Will it be all at once? Or one at a time perhaps?
Imagine Eminem, Kendrick, Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre all on the same stage at once! You could wrap that up in a bow and put it under the tree because that would be the best present of all time.
And we can’t forget our queen, Miss Mary J. Blige.
Three of the artists (Dr Dre, Snoop and Kendrick) will be returning home to the west coast for the first Super Bowl to be held in LA in 30 years. There’s no way this gift won’t be received with the greatest enthusiasm and applause, regardless of how they choose to make their entrances (or exits – think Dianna Ross and her chopper).
Will This Be The Greatest Super Bowl Halftime performance EVER?
The five mega stars have released a total of 22 Billboard number one albums and won a massive 44 Grammys combined! Just think of the medley’s this group of deities could perform. Which brings us to the question – what will they perform?
This is one performance you do not want to miss; performing altogether for the first – and (most likely) only time – these hip-hop gods (and goddess) will be making halftime history!
